Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 19, 2026
This policy explains how Las Vegas Family Therapy, LLC, doing business as Las Vegas Counseling Center, and Karen Anderson, MS, LMFT ("we," "us") collect, use, share and protect consumer health data, and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet Washington's My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373) and Nevada's consumer health data law (NRS 603A.400 to 603A.550). It applies to information collected through karenandersonwellness.com, our forms and our emails. It adds to our general Privacy Policy.
What "consumer health data" means here
Consumer health data is personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and that identifies your past, present or future physical or mental health. For us, the simple fact that you are looking for therapy or counseling can count as consumer health data.
Categories of consumer health data we collect
- The fact that you have asked about or booked therapy, counseling, coaching or a consultation.
- Anything about your health, wellbeing, relationships or circumstances that you choose to write in a form, email or message to us.
- Your contact details (name, email, phone) when they are linked to the items above.
We do not collect precise location data, biometric data or genetic data. We do not geofence around health care facilities. Answers you give in the "Find where to begin" guide stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
Sources of this data
- Directly from you, through our forms, email or the consultation booking page.
- From our scheduling system, Jane, when you book a consultation or session.
Why we collect and use it
Only to provide what you ask for: to reply to you, to arrange and hold a consultation, and to decide together whether therapy or coaching is a good fit and which licensed service fits your location. We also use it to keep the required records and to protect the security of our systems. We collect and share consumer health data only with your consent, or as needed to provide a service you asked for. If we ever want to use it for another purpose, we will ask for your consent first.
How you consent
Before you send a form that may include health information, we ask for your consent to collect it for the purpose shown. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Your rights below).
Categories of consumer health data we share, and with whom
We share consumer health data only with service providers (processors) that work for us under contract and use it only to provide their service to us:
- ClickFunnels (website hosting and forms): inquiry form entries.
- Google Workspace (business email): messages you send us.
- Jane (HIPAA-compliant scheduling and records): consultation and appointment bookings.
We have no affiliates that receive consumer health data. We do not sell consumer health data and will never do so without a valid signed authorization from you, as the law requires. We do not share it with third parties for advertising.
Third parties that collect information over time
Our website platform and embedded tools may use cookies that collect information about your online activity over time and across websites, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use them to infer or target health information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, Washington and Nevada law give you these rights over your consumer health data:
- Confirm and access: ask whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data. Washington residents may get a copy of it. Residents of both states may get a list of every third party and affiliate it has been shared with, with their contact information.
- Withdraw consent: tell us to stop collecting or sharing your consumer health data.
- Delete: ask us to delete your consumer health data. We will also tell our service providers to delete it. Copies in backup systems are deleted within six months.
- Appeal: if we decline a request, you may appeal our decision.
We will not deny you services, charge you more or treat you differently for using these rights. Requests are free, up to twice a year. Records we must keep by law, such as clinical records required by our professional licenses, may be kept for the legally required period. If so, we will tell you.
How to make a request
- Email reachout@karenandersonwellness.com with the subject line "Health data request," and say which right you want to use.
- We may ask for information to confirm your identity, and we use it only to verify your request.
- We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend this by another 45 days and will tell you why within the first 45 days.
An authorized agent may make a request for you with your written permission.
Appeals
To appeal a decision, reply to our response with the subject line "Appeal." We will answer in writing within 45 days and explain our reasons. If we deny the appeal:
- Washington residents may file a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.
- Nevada residents may contact the Nevada Attorney General at ag.nv.gov.
How we protect it
Access is limited to Karen and the service providers named above. Our systems use secure connections and two-step sign-in, and we follow reasonable security practices suited to how sensitive health information is.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use consumer health data you have already given us, we will ask for your consent again.
